In the context of gaming, a slot is a mechanism in which players wager coins or credits and hope to win by matching symbols on a payline. The pay table of a slot machine specifies for each combination of symbols and the number of coins bet how much the player will receive. Some slots also have wild symbols that pay for any other symbol on the pay line.
